Workplace Law
Ensuring that you are compliant
Employers are now subject to a great deal of legislation relating to:
- fire safety
- lighting
- space
- ventilation
- temperature
- access
- rest areas/facilities
A further key regulatory consideration for employers are the ever-increasing climate change constraints – with the progressive F-Gas legislation that renders many air conditioning units illegal to the Carbon Reduction Commitment.
F-Gas compliancy
The EU F-gas (fluorinated gas) regulation aims to reduce the emissions of potent greenhouse gasses and eventually phase them out completely. This affects operators with refrigerants and air conditioning units in workplaces such as offices, industry and retail. By January 2015 all air conditioning units using F-gases must be replaced with new ozone friendly models. With all the equipment in service this is a major undertaking that needs careful planning.
| 1st January 2010 | No new F-Gas is available to buy, recycled products only |
| 1st January 2015 | All F-Gas using equipment must be replaced before this date |
Fines will be imposed for breaking these laws. Further details of these changes can be found at F-gas.org
Veale Associates workplace consultancy service will ensure that you are fully compliant with all these regulations, helping you to avoid possible fines and allowing you to concentrate on your priorities. We also review your current building services to establish ways in which your carbon emissions and vulnerability to associated taxes can be reduced.
There are 2 years and 46 weeks remaining to check your F-Gas Compliance
